He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Delbert Maltba and Ruby Stewart Maltba; his son Newt "Tooter" Maltba, Jr.; and his siblings, Delbert Maltba, Larry Tex Maltba, Joyce Franklin, Phyllis Vance, Elizabeth Goforth, Minnie Pittman, Nell Pittman and Hildred Holtsclaw.
He is survived by: his children, April Benfield (Jeff) of Newland, NC, Jack Maltba of Newland, NC and Roy Maltba (Renee) of Newland, NC; and his wife Gail Maltba of Newland, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
