Newt Maltba Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Newt Maltba of Newland, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 29, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Newt Maltba to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Delbert Maltba and Ruby Stewart Maltba; his son Newt "Tooter" Maltba, Jr.; and his siblings, Delbert Maltba, Larry Tex Maltba, Joyce Franklin, Phyllis Vance, Elizabeth Goforth, Minnie Pittman, Nell Pittman and Hildred Holtsclaw.
He is survived by: his children, April Benfield (Jeff) of Newland, NC, Jack Maltba of Newland, NC and Roy Maltba (Renee) of Newland, NC; and his wife Gail Maltba of Newland, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Heaton Christian Church (221 Curtis Creek Rd, Elk Park, NC 28622). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
