With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Mabel Gragg (Newland, North Carolina), who passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Gragg and Ellis Gragg; her husband Ervin Odas Gragg; her siblings, Howard, Dallas and Ethel; and her daughters, Wanda Lambert and Margie Matheson.
She is survived by: her sisters, Irene, Alma and Rachel; and her children, Anna Story, Lucille Gragg Bolick, Margaret Hackney, Barbara Hodges (Bobby), Roger Gragg (Linda), Douglas Gragg (Karen), Danny Gragg (Deborah) and Kevin Jestes. She is also survived by 148 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Hopewell Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
