He was predeceased by : his parents, William Deese and Virgie Deese; and his sisters, Linda Lou Deese and Ruth Deese-Burrows. He is survived by : his wife Jeanette Sexton Deese; his children, Renee Kuczka (Chad) of Stafford and Jerry Deese (Karen) of Albemarle; his siblings, Fran Parkerson of Troy, Hazel Spivey (James) of Troy, Janice Lewis of Rockingham, Stan Deese of Hickory and Gerald Deese (Darlene) of Mt. Gilead; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Aidan and Sarah Kuczka.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cape Carteret Baptist Church (101 Anita Forte Dr, Cape Carteret, NC 28584). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at the Gethsemane Memorial Park (700 NC-24, Newport, NC 28570).
