She was predeceased by: her father Willie Johnson; her brothers, Bobby Johnson and Arthur Johnson; her siblings-in-law, Susie Bryan, Jack K. Garner, Lenwood Simmons and Malcolm Simmons Jr.; and her niece Madeline Lewis.
She is survived by: her husband Ralph Simmons; her sister Juanita Garner of Newport; her sisters-in-law, Rebecca Moore of Newport and Paula Johnson of Newport; and her sibling's children, Deanna Windham (Harold), David Johnson (Melissa), Dennis Garner (Inez), Greg Garner (Jacki) and William Moore (Joy).
