It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Henson of Newport, North Carolina, who passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Jones Lloyd and Fannie Sutton Lloyd; and her brother Milton "Bud" Lloyd. She is survived by: her sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy, Lady Gay, Beulah Ann, Ellen and Lillian; her former spouse Lee Roy Mayo Jr.; her husband Joseph Henson; her children, Michael Mayo, Mitchell Mayo (Charlotte), Pamela Mayo and Jeffrey Mayo; her grandchildren, Shannon Sencion (Luis), Brandon Dunn and Juliya Dunn; and her sister Frances Hedgepeth (Rex). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
