He was predeceased by : his parents, Wheeler Lee and Geneva Lee; and his siblings, Marvin, Robert Lee and Grace Lee.

He is survived by : his wife Lucy Lee of Newport; his son Richard Lee (Becky) of Newport; his grandchildren, Samantha Lee of Summerville, SC, Brandon Lee of Newport, Cody Guthrie of Jacksonville and Austin Guthrie of Havelock; his great grandchild Hailey Williams of Havelock; and his sister Carol Lee of Havelock.
