With sadness, we share the passing of Dorothy Griffin Meeks of Newport, North Carolina. Dorothy, born on December 26, 1935, passed away on June 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Grey Woolard Griffin and Newport Little League; her husband Charlie L. Meeks, Sr.; her son-in-law Leon Turnage; and her siblings, Robert Griffin, Salley Taylor, Hazel Waller and Faye Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Charlotte Turnage and Charlie Lee Meeks, Jr. (Erin); her grandchildren, Aliceson Turnage, Rachel Amburn (Jordan), Charles Turnage (Rebecca), Griffin Meeks and Ella Grey Meeks; her great grandchild Ariah Turnage; and her caregivers, Amy Parish and Rebecca Turnage. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
