She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Woolgast Salter and Elizabeth Lewis Salter; her siblings, Nola Marie Brown, Edna Earl Salter, Joan Matthews and Bobby Salter; and her son-in-law Johnny Hill.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Hill of Arapahoe, NC and Jody Brown of Broad Creek, NC; and her grandchildren, Shannon Hill of New Jersey and John Michael Hill of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Broad Creek Church of God (394 Broad Creek Loop Rd, Newport, NC 28570). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 9th 2026 at the Gethsemane Memorial Park (700 NC-24, Newport, NC 28570).
