We are sad to announce that, on April 1, 2026, at the age of 105, Ethel Wilkerson of Newport, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Ethel shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Ethel farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Griffith Lee Reed and Rosa Weeks Reed; her husband James Rainey Wilkerson; and her brother Hassell Burton Reed. She is survived by: her children, James Lee Wilkerson, Faye W. Fleming and Donald Reed Wilkerson; her grandsons, Andrew Lee Wilkerson, Jeremy Talmadge Fleming and Joshua Lee Fleming; and her great grandchildren, Nathan Lee Wilkerson and Ariyan John Fleming.
