With sadness, we share the passing of Franklin Lane of Newport, North Carolina. Franklin, born on June 17, 1947, passed away on July 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jule Lane and Edna Mozingo Lane; his brothers, Anthony Gaines Lane and Alton "Tootie" Lane; and his stepsiblings, Joseph "Jodie" Lane, Inez Lane Turner and Louise Lane Flood.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Sasser Lane; his sons, Michael Lane (Stephanie) of Fremont and Scott Lane of Atlantic Beach; his grandchildren, Grayson Kearney (Ryan), Grifton Lane (Macy) and Garrett Lane; and his great grandchild Jayce Kearney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International in Franklin's memory.
