It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lee Pittman of Newport, North Carolina, who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. As James Lee departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James Lee. Though James Lee may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Pittman and Vida Pittman. He is survived by: his sons, James Pittman (Tammy) of Newport and John "Frankie" Pittman (Cindy) of Morehead City; his sister Annie Davis of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Ryan Pittman, Chris MacQueen, Kelli Pittman and Hank Pittman; and his sister Linda Kay Mitchell. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gethsemane Memorial Park (700 NC-24, Newport, NC 28570).
