He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Howard and Laura Bell Howard; his wife Mary Yvonne Howard; his brothers, Rayford and Linwood Howard; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lewis and Ray Giasson.
He is survived by: his sons, Tim Howard (Tina) of Morehead City and Mike Howard (Kim) of Morehead City; his sister Elsie Lewis of Pembroke Pines, Florida; his siblings-in-law, Douglas Franks (Carol) of Havelock, Jack Franks (Linda) of Greenville, NC, Peggy Giasson of New Bern and Dorothy Howard of Havelock; his grandchildren, Hannah Farinella (Cody) of Greensboro, Greer Howard of Seoul, Jacob Howard of Raleigh and Kayla Grace Smith (Luke) of Newport; and his great grandchild Cole Farinella.
