We announce the death of Etta McKinley of Newton Grove, North Carolina, who passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Etta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Etta will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Etta will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Etta’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanette Franks (Bob) of Sandusky, Thomas McNatt of Minnesota, Jackie McCray (Priscilla) of Dunn, NC, Bruce McCray (Angela), Robert McKinley of Sandusky and Greg McKinley; and her siblings, Martha Mae Hicks of Fayetteville, NC, Raymond Dewitt Howard, Jr. and Robert Lee Howard.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel (163 Irene Roberts Rd, Lillington, NC 27546). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Resthaven Cemetery.
