It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Ledford (Newton, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Cleatus Cook and Wilma Bradshaw Cook of Lawndale; her husband Major Lee Ledford; her son Bobby Ledford; and her sisters, Ruth Chapman and Maxine Taylor.

She is survived by : her daughters, Nina Ledford Greene (David) of Newton and Pat Ledford Wilson (Phillip) of Newton; her daughter-in-law Prisca Ledford of Newton; her sister Lucille Canipe (Ray) of Lawndale; her sisters-in-law, Linda Cook of Lawndale and Irene Ledford of Casar; and her grandchildren, Hanna Greene Edwards (Brandon), Casey Ledford Mueller (Wayne), Nick Wilson (Tracy), Matt Greene (Hope), Erin Wilson (Chad) and Jordan Ledford.
