With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billie Sue Richardson Shrum of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on July 7, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Ray; her parents, Arthur Richardson and Margaret Richardson; her siblings, Betty Parker (John) and Bobby Richardson; and her son-in-law Michael Gilbert.
She is survived by: her sisters-in-law, Ann Richardson and Barbara Huffstetler (Whitey); and her children, Dan, Richard (Susan) and Kay Gilbert. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (300 N Main Ave, Newton, NC 28658).
