We announce the death of Catherine Moore Hartness of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 87. Catherine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Catherine’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Artie Moore Parker and Blanche Bolick Parker; her former husband Bobby Moore; and her husband Lucky Hartness. She is survived by: her sons, Ryan D. Moore (Lisa) of Newton, Alex F. Moore of Cherryville and Scott L. Moore (Tena) of Newton. She is also survived by Seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Burke Mortuary Chapel- Newton (2516 N Main Ave, Newton, NC 28658). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
