He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Dial and Grace Joines Childers; his stepfather Fred Childers; his sister Lena Campbell; and his son Scott Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Eller Dial; his children, Billy Davis of Bradenton, FL, David Dial Jr. of Asheville and Jessica Dial of Maiden; his brothers, Gerald Dial (Sheila) of Taylorsville and Dale Childers (Shirley) of Taylorsville; and his brother-in-law Joey Campbell of Taylorsville.
