She was predeceased by : her parents, Jefferson Woodrow McRee and Madge Smith McRee; her husband J. D. Caldwell; and her siblings, Johnsie Abernethy, JoAnne Beard and Donald McRee.

She is survived by : her children, Kevin Caldwell (Robin) of Newton and Kara Jones (Scott) of Fort Mill, SC; and her sisters, Janice Wilfong (Kay Wagner) of Wilmington and Gwen McRee.
