He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Phillips and Nancy Kirby Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Monica Long Phillips; his children, Kirby Orr (Jake) of Maggie Valley, NC, Baker Phillips of Boone, NC and Jett Phillips of Hickory, NC; his siblings, Jan Phillips, Kristy Johnston (Jeff), Blair Phillips of Mount Pleasant, SC and Jason Phillips (Beth) of Matthews, NC.; and his grandsons, Hayden and Bentley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Jenkins Funeral Home (4081 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the City Walk Brewing (205 Main Ave NE Suite C, Hickory, NC 28601).
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Mountains to Sea Trail.
