She was predeceased by: her husband John Mark Settlemyre; her son John Mark Settlemyre II; her brothers, Tommy Carter, Andrew Arney and Anthony Arney; her mother Irene Arney; her stepfather Albert Arney; and her father Thomas Eugene Carter Sr..
She is survived by: her son Quintin Settlemyre (Regina); her grandchildren, Joshua Settlemyre (Ellen) and Katelyn Settlemyre (Spencer); her great grandchild Nora Jane Settlemyre; her siblings, Anita Hendren, Greg Carter and Vonita Carter; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Carter and Connie Arney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jenkins Funeral Home (4081 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
