It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Mays Young of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Romey Mays and Florence Marie DuPree Mays; her brother-in-law John Arnett; and her niece Lesley Bedford. She is survived by: her close friend Neil Baker of Conover, NC; her sisters, Laura Moore (Larry) of Sherrills Ford, Barbara Arnett of Lincolnton and Harriet Bedford (Larry) of Newton; her grandchildren, Georgia Young, Darby Young and David Stewart; Christopher Scott Young (Megan) of Seekonk, MA, Rebecca Young Stewart (Adam) of Newton, NC., Gina Silva (Miguel), Candace, Carmen, Thomas Silva and Sheree Daily (Michael).
