With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melissa Catherine Martin (Newton, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 21, 2025 at the age of 62. She was predeceased by: her uncle Dean Vickers. She is survived by: her mother Mary Vickers Herman; her stepfather Ernest; her sister Marigene Matthews (Gary); her nephews, Brian Roberts and Andrew Matthews (Susan); her stepsiblings, Donna Self, Sheila Starnes (Kevin) and James Herman; her great-niece Allie Matthews; her great-nephews, Jacob and Isaac Matthews; and her stepnephew Kevin Self.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home (56 Northwest Blvd, Newton, NC 28658).
