He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Caldwell and Bertie Drum Caldwell; and his brother William Caldwell. He is survived by: his wife Mildred W. Caldwell; his children, Scott Caldwell (Linda) of Newton and Ronica Bowen (George) of Greensboro; his siblings, Tony Caldwell of Newton, Phillip Caldwell of Newton and Joyce Boston (Wayne) of Newton; his grandchildren, Georgeanna Le (Lawrence) and Sammy Bowen (Jeffrey Shutter); and his great grandchildren, Laura Le and Bowen Le.
