He is survived by: his wife Ruby Wilkes Hewitt; his children, Tony Hewitt Jr. (Charlotte) of Hickory, Rodney Hewitt (Selina) of Hickory, Shone Williams (Derrick) of Gibsonville and Heather Hewitt of Conover; his siblings, Michael Hewitt (Marilyn "Ginny") of Newton, Dean Hewitt of Catawba, Hubert Hewitt, Jr., Larry Hewitt of Bethlehem, Gerald Reid of Winston-Salem, Sarah Jones of Charlotte and Eleanor "Cooky" Wilson of Catawba; and his grandchildren, Kwame Pegram, Kwadijah, Kwastacia, Essence, Jaquala Hewitt, Mikhaila Williams, Amiyah Bowen and Emonte Wimbush, Sr..
