It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Calvin Deitz of Newton, North Carolina, who passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Calvin Deitz and Bessie Smart Deitz; his siblings, Paul Lewis Deitz and Betty S. Taylor; and his grandchild Devon Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife Linda McGee Deitz; his children, Tommy Abernathy (Allison) of Connelly Springs and Melissa Elliot (Mike) of Conover; his grandchildren, Derek Lail, Dillon Elliot, Rachel Abernathy and Corey Abernathy; and his sibling's children, Katrina Daniel (Scott), Lisa Sigmon, Jeffery Taylor (Sandra) and Eric Taylor (Cheryl).
