It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Earl Joseph Davis of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 29, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Howard and Cloma Lee Ladd Davis; his half-sisters, Mary Jo Castillio, Dorothy Gales and Pattie Ladd; his brother Robert "Bob" Davis; and his stepson Paul Blankenship.

He is survived by : his spouse Evon Owen Blankenship; his daughters, Sheria Prevette (Jeff) of Austin-Traphill and Alma Jean Fortner of Wilkesboro; his stepdaughters, Sandy Blankenship (Wanda Bradley) of Conover, Sherra Bowman (Giles) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Donna Taylor (Tom) of Short Pump, Virginia, Brenda Murphy of Frederick and Pam Gartrell (Jim) of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; his granddaughters, Tasha Williams (Shawn) of North Wilkesboro and Amanda Fortner of North Wilkesboro; his stepgrandchildren, Erin Popov (Konstantine) of Durham, Kaitlin Harpold (Chris) of Columbus, Blaise Bowman of Kennesaw, Regan Bowman of Kennesaw, Georgia, Matthew Gartrell of Chambersburg and Owen Taylor of Providence; his great grandchildren, Lesley Benge, Tyler Benge, Hannah Colbert and James Colbert; his great great grandchild River Watson; and his sisters, Margie Anderson of North Wilkesboro and Wanda Mecimore of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
