With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Justin Matthew Dowell (North Wilkesboro, North Carolina), who passed away on November 6, 2025 at the age of 40. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Turner and Jean Bell; his uncle Wayne; his aunt Lou Shumate; and his grandparents, Junior, Patsy Dowell, Dovie Brewer, John Thompson, Flossy and Jerry (Ryan Gwyn).
He is survived by: his wife Jessica "Jessi" Dowell; his children, Chayton Dowell, Gracie Dowell, Ava Dowell and Enslea Dowell; his parents, James Dowell and Jackie Bell Dowell; his brothers, Jamie Dowell (Kristen) and Andrew Dowell (Kayla); his grandmother Shonnie Thompson; his aunts and uncles, John Thompson (Amanda), Jeff Dowell (Amanda), Lynn Church (Ronnie), Gail Conner and Peggy Smithey; his siblings' children, Addie Dowell, Alia Dowell, Bridgett Byrd, Abel Dowell, Sawyer Dowell, Gabe Byrd, Rowan Byrd and Orion Taylor; his siblings-in-law, Samuel Byrd, Josh Byrd (Sam), Alex Gwyn and Natalie Gentry; his parents-in-law, Lee Byrd (Vonnie) and Tammy Poindexter (Mark Goins); and his close friend Marty Cheek.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Dowell Residence (958 Brinegar Hill Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659).
