She was predeceased by: her parents, Vaughn Manson Smith and Faye Novella Petrea Smith; and her sister Elizabeth "Vicki" Grissom. She is survived by: her husband Clyde R. Beachum of Norwood, NC; her children, Elvis Quentin Smith and Westley Thomas Beachum; her stepchildren, Benjamin A. Beachum, Debroah G. Williams, Joy Burris and James R. Beachum; her grandson Jordan Smith; and her siblings, Patsy Taylor, Nancy Little, Brenda Hill, Lynda Smith, Shirley Davis (Michael), Marilyn Lankford (John) and Tommy Smith (Tracy). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Freedom Holiness Church in Albemarle.
