We announce the death of Rachel Hamilton of Norwood, North Carolina, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 94. Rachel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Frick and Mary Frick; her husband Grover Alexander Hamilton; her sons-in-law, Danny Gardner Sr. and Kenneth Fesperman; her grandson Danny Gardner Jr.; and her siblings, Louise Culp and Grady Frick.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melody Gardner and Iris Fesperman; her grandchildren, Tish McNeill (Larry), Brian Fesperman (Kristy) and Bridget Russell (Tyler); and her brother Joe Frick. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (120 College St, Norwood, NC 28128). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care (960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001).
