Sherrill Austin Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on December 17, 2025, at the age of 91, Sherrill Austin of Norwood, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, may Sherrill find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd James and Patry Tucker Austin; his former wife Betty Burris Austin; his siblings, Doris Kennedy, Sylvia Whitley and Ned Austin; and his stepson Darrell Mauldin.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Colson Mauldin; his sister Patsy Barbee; and his stepson Ted Mauldin (Chris). He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great- great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
