It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Robert Purves Sr. of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, who passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothea Neems Packer; his wife Karen Bartoli Purves; his father Stuart Purves; his stepfather George Chimenti; and his brother William Purves.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Purves (Gina), Patti-Anne Parnell (Kenneth) and Doreen Purves; his grandchildren, Brandon Purves, Christopher Purves, Seth Parnell (Heather), Sean Goode (Meghan), Audrina Covert, Madison Reese (Fisher), Parker Purves, Josiah Parnell (Maren) and Ryann Purves; his siblings, Greg Purves, Catherine Chimenti (Ford), George P. Chimenti Jr. and Christopher Chimenti; his stepmother Karen Chimenti; and his stepsisters, Gina Zarowin (Claude) and Janice Schiano. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
