He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Engler and Mildred Juhl Engler; his wife Barbara Bean Engler; and his brother-in-law Martin Cooper. He is survived by: his daughter Katharine Engler (Tony Taylor) of Wake Forest; his grandson Holden Matthew Taylor; and his siblings, Virgil Engler (Mary), Ernie Engler (Brenda), Linda Wilkins (Bill) and Wanda Cooper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
