He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Wilson and Madge Lorene Auten; his son James Richard Wilson; and his granddaughter Samantha Wylie. He is survived by: his daughter Sonya Wilson Doby (Marc) of Oakboro, NC; his stepdaughters, Windy Plummer (Keith) of Aquadale, NC and Melissa Simpson (John) of Charlotte, NC; his daughter-in-law LaDonna Wilson of Monroe, NC; his grandchildren, Angel Barbee (Taylor) of Stanfield, NC, Amber Carpenter (Kelton) of Locust, NC, Alisha Wilson (Josh) of Norwood, NC, Ashley Whitener of Kannapolis, NC, Kayla Miller (Cody) of Albemarle, NC, Brandon Simpson, Amanda Wilson and Phillip Wilson (Kristie); his brother Larry Wilson (Julie) of Stanfield, NC.; and his great grandchildren, Maddox, Kayson Barbee, Cooper, Cade, Colby Jo Carpenter, Lane, Opal Wilson, Saige, Grace Bolser, Gavin Wilson, Haley Williams, Camron, Zhoie and Nova Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilkinson Funeral Home (100 Branchview Dr NE, Concord, NC 28025).
