Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Curtis for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Benton and Annie Blalock of Monroe; his sister Shirley Benton Helms; his brother-in-law George W. Helms; and his niece Gail Norris.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Hathcock Benton; his daughter Kelly Foster of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, D. Brandon Foster of Seattle, WA and Kristina Ryan of San Francisco, CA; and his nephews, Steve Helms (Vonnie) and Scott Helms. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church (4694 NC-205, Oakboro, NC 28129-8858). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
