He is survived by: his wife Joan Owen; his sons, Brant Owen (Leighanne) of Albemarle and Peter Owen (Becca) of Oakboro; his daughter-in-law Tonya Owen of Oakboro; his grandchildren, Taylor Ray (Luke), Meredith McTague (Donovan), Kendall Owen (McKayla), Katelyn Hathcock (Sawyer), Sarah Owen, Josh Owen, Riley Owen and Elie Owen; his great grandchildren, MJ, Cora and Kenslee; and his brother Galen Owen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care (960 N 1st St, Albemarle, NC 28001) or the the Building Fund at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (17236 Frog Pond Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129).
