She was predeceased by: her husband Jimmy Ray Carter; her parents, Harles (Neava Spaulding Locklear) and Lumbee; her siblings, Linda Locklear, Fayelene Perreault, James Locklear and Mitchell Locklear; her siblings-in-law, Patricia Carter, Athalene Daniels, Jayne Locklear, Floyd Locklear, Clem Pierce, Durant Cooper, Larry Carter and Lindy Daniels; her daughter-in-law Sheila Carter; and her grandson James Reavis.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Daniel (Jay) of Salisbury, NC, Dean Carter of Mocksville, NC, Carol Colbert (Doug), Jimmy Carter (Angie) of Mocksville, NC and Wenona Thompson (Brad) of Boonville, NC.; her siblings, Gladys Pierce of Lumberton, NC, Peggy Cooper of Maxton, NC, Patsy Locklear of Greensboro, NC and Harvey Locklear (Jan) of Clayton, NC; her siblings-in-law, Travisene Boger (Johnny) of Mocksville, NC and Lionel Perreault of Lake Linden, MI.; and her nieces, Merrill, Nikki Jones and Gracie (Grayson). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
