It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eileen Conner of Old Fort, North Carolina, who passed away on July 12, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bascom Millard Melton and Maude Eileen Ingle Melton; her daughter Shannon Conner; and her siblings, Billy Melton, Joe Melton and Marie Bates.
She is survived by: her close friend Charlie Robbins, Jr.; her daughter Shawn Orr (Joe); her adoptive daughter Rhonda Ford (Mike); her sister Elaine Metcalf (Samuel); her nieces and nephews, Brent Metcalf, Ross Metcalf, Casey Metcalf, Sheree Montgomery and Mary Frances Hale; and her former husband Gordon Conner. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calendar Anders-Rice Funeral Home (1428 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A burial will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Smokey Park (2312 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715).
