He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hill and Sophie Hill; his sisters, Maragaret Stranahan, Carole Powers and Ruth Ann Draper; and his son-in-law Andrew Searsy.

He is survived by: his wife Ruthene Hill of Old Fort; his sisters, JoAnn Smith of Flint and Gloria Muchler of New Braunfels, Texas; his sister-in-law Suzette Gow of Hillsdale; his son Robb Hill; his daughter-in-law Kirti Shastri of Asheville; his daughter Christina Searsy of Midlothian, Texas; his grandson Dylan Searsy; and his great grandchild Georgiana Searsy of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Freedom Life Ministries in Marion, North Carolina in his memory.
