Robert will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Robert by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Robert is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Robert’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence C. Monteith and Almeda J. Lalonde Monteith; and his sons, Rory Monteith and Rob Monteith. He is survived by: his husband Michael T. Chase; his daughter Tammy Monteith of Marion; his nephew Billy; and his former wife Barbara Monteith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (339 S Main St #289, Marion, NC 28752).
