He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Ray and Ernie Westall Ray; and his sisters, Betty and Peggy. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Marsh Ray; his children, Malita Jackson (Mark), Lisa Wylie (Perry) and Steve Ray (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Eric Jackson (Whitney), Ethan Jackson (Dallas), Morgan Griffith (James), Ashley Wylie, Lacy Ray and Jacob Ray; his great grandchildren, Rivers Stillman, Carter Ann, Knox, Rhett, Greyson and Reece Jackson; and his siblings, Ronald, Judy and Gail.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beam Funeral Service & Crematory (2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
