He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Ragan, Jr. and Sue Sanders Ragan; and his brother George Ragan. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Henry Ragan; his children, Renee Ragan Schrom (Eric) and James "Jamie" Edward Ragan IV (Penny) of Goldsboro, NC; his grandchildren, Josh Schrom, Joe Schrom, Emily Schrom, Lacey Ragan and Kate Ragan; and his great grandchildren, Maddie Schrom, Sadie Schrom, Derek McLawhorn and Gavin McLawhorn.
