She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon McConnell (Charles), Marcia Crawford (Mark), Judy McGuire and Beverly Penland (Steve); her siblings, Joanne Phillips, Mary Ruth Armstrong, Bettie Shomaker (Richard) and Harold McGuire; her grandchildren, Scott Crawford, Steve McConnell, Jason McConnell, Lindsay Crawford Meyers, Katie McConnell Kennedy, Whitney Penland, Jordan McGuire Clay and Elizabeth Penland Brown; and her children, Janice Tyler, Larry Shope, Roy Chastain and Gethsemane. She is also survived by thirteen great‑grandchildren.
