He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie H. Bowen and Bessie Edmonds Bowen; and his brothers, Herbert Gordon Bowen, Bennett Bowen and Leonard Hudson Bowen.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Moore Bowen; his daughters, Pamela B. Freeman, Susan B. Freeman (Joe) and Cynthia B. Thomas (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Leslie Freeman (Will), Sam Freeman (Amira), Clayton Thomas, Erika Thomas and Ashlyn Thomas (Jay); and his sister Barbara B. Pinnell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
