Though Frederick may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his parents, Cora Lee Terry Smith and Franklin Taylor Smith; his wife Rhada Williams Smith; his children, Frederick D. Smith (Brianna) of North Carolina, Amon R. Smith of Henderson, Jordan T. Smith of Raleigh and Darha M. Ponder of Kings Mountain; and his sisters, Audrey Harris (Willie) of Oxford and Donna McRae (Curtis) of Oxford. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
