It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon S Basnight (Oxford, North Carolina), who passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his parents, Gordon Lee Basnight (Gayle) and Rebecca Margaret Davenport Toole (Edward); his wife Madelene Josefsson; his children, Mary Williford (Todd) of Oxford, Philip Basnight (Sarah) of Oxford, Teresa Basnight of Louisburg, NC, Christina Abbott (Carter) of Henderson, Jazzman Harrington of Oxford, Marquida Harrington "Kiki" of Seattle, WA, Torgny Basnight (Krista) of Oxford and Timothy Currier of Oxford; and his siblings, Greg Basnight of New Bern, Kevin Basnight of Oxford, Virginia Meehan of Willow Springs, John Fletcher of Iowa, Matt Basnight of Holden Beach, Meg Wester of Lewisville and Chris Basnight of Youngsville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
