She is survived by: her children, Lou Thornton, Jr. of Oxford, Christine Williams of Oxford, Dorothy Thornton of Oxford and Carnell Thornton (Connie Jones Thornton) of Matthews, NC. She is also survived by eight Grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
