Kermit Ellis Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kermit Ellis Jr. of Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Weldon Ellis Sr. and Margarita Delgado Ellis; his sister Laura Redding; his uncle T. W. Ellis (Dorothy); and his aunt Oveida Mayo (Joe).

He is survived by: his wife Meredith Ellis; his son Graham Ellis; his brother-in-law Tim Redding; his nephew Max Redding; his cousins, Dottie Ellis, Diane Ellis, Tom Ellis (Bonnie), Verlie Norris and Joe Mayo; his goddaughter Oveida Kedia; and his close friends, Paul Gilster, Russell Odom and James Powell.

After moving to Oxford in 2012 he held the office of Secretary for the Granville Education Foundation (GEF).
