She was predeceased by: her parents, Purcell Cobb Cashwell and Sallie Belle Stephens Cashwell; her husband Robert S. Lawing, Jr.; her children, Robert S. Lawing III and Jennifer Lawing Parker; and her siblings, Ken Cashwell, Ruby McCormic, Nellie Armstrong and Virginia Barbour.
She is survived by: her daughter Dawn Lawing Johnson (Ricky); her grandchildren, Allison Jamison (Lee) and Emily Bennett (Kevin); and her niece Debbie Armstrong Pederson. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McNeill-Legacy Funeral Home (319 W Broad St, St Pauls, NC 28384).
