She was predeceased by: her parents, Hoyle James Mullies and Annie Mae Moore Mullis; her husband Lewis Starnes; her granddaughter Nicole Carver; and her siblings, Velmar Price, Coy Mullis, Margaret Kiker, Joyce Little and Carl Mullis.

She is survived by: her daughters, Robin Carpenter (Donny) of POlkton and Jan Wright (Floyd) of Peachland; her grandchildren, Heather Frye (Stephen) of Peachland, Brandi Wright of Peachland and Johnathon Carber of Polkton; her great grandchildren, Cameron Dutton, Carmen Wright, Lexi Smith, Glady Carver and Gracie Carver; and her great great grandchildren, Amaya Dutton, Amara Dutton, Leana Mason and Khloe Bennett. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (2467 Upper White Store Rd, Peachland, NC 28133). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at the Freedom Baptist Church (5964 NC-218, Peachland, NC 28133).
