He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bryant Walters and Vera Louise Efird Walters; his siblings, Clarence Walters and Doris Parker; his siblings-in-law, Bill (Geneva Curran), Ken (Bryte Hyatt), Bennett Walters, Sally, Ray and Jerry Thomas; and his grandson Austin Blake Morton.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Collins Walters; his children, Lisa Morton (Patrick), Donna Walters, Denise McCrae (Mark), Benny Baucom (Charlene) and Tim Baucom (Dawn); his grandchildren, Baylee Anders (Matthew), Brandon Morton (Lani), Dathan D'Agostino Julie Byrd (Marco), Courtney Campbell (Vern) and Tom Baucom (Kaylie); his great grandchildren, Madi Blaire Anders, Kiersten Byrd, Adelyn Byrd, Zeke Campbell, Isla Campbell, Mac Baucom and Lucy Baucom; and his sister Miriam Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the New Home Baptist Church (1617 New Home Church Rd, Peachland, NC 28113). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
